Numbers game threatens Philippines government

In the Philippines, the gambling game of “jueteng” has caused problems for several administrations following the toppling of Joseph Estrada in 2001.

Now, some of the closest allies of Benigno Aquino, the current Philippines president, are said to have links to this illegal but very popular game.

This will be the third administration to face a senate inquiry into the illegal gambling, as Al Jazeera’s Margas Ortigas reports. (25 Oct, 2010)
